PassChain runs no servers and does not collect or upload any of your data. Here's exactly how the app handles your information.

We don't collect data

PassChain is a fully client-side app. Your vault — every account, password, note, and attachment — is encrypted and stored only in a cloud drive folder you choose. We have no servers, so there is nothing for us to access, store, or analyze.

Your cloud drive only ever sees ciphertext

Your vault file is stored via the operating system's file interfaces in a cloud drive of your choice (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.). PassChain doesn't integrate any cloud provider's private protocol or SDK, and your provider never sees plaintext.

Network access

The app makes no background network connections. It only reaches the network when you explicitly trigger a feature — such as fetching a website's favicon or checking whether a password has appeared in a breach — and none of those requests ever include anything from your vault.

On-device security

Unlocking your vault uses Face ID or your master password. The vault locks automatically on system lock (screen lock, sleep, etc.), and clipboard contents clear automatically after a configurable delay. All of this runs locally on your device with no remote service involved.
